Ed Ivey of "Blues Revue" said "Michaels is a great singer with gruff roadhouse vocals."

Marty Macmillan - Vocals, Guitar. Originally hailing from the Detroit, Michigan area, Marty brings an exciting audio and visual aspect to the Blue Plate Special lineup since Jan. 2009 ! Marty not only burns in the standard guitar tuning, he adds a huge new depth to the material with his guitar D and B -Tunings as well as a smokin' slide guitar !!

Gary Maier - Drums. Original powerhouse percussionist and founding member of Blue Plate Special has returned to the BPS lineup as of 2011. "In The Mix" magazine described Gary's style as "imaginative and on the spot,propelling the band forward at every turn".

Marty uses a variety of Fender Stratocasters, a G&L Telecaster, and a Danelectro 6 string bass as well as an accoustic resonator guitar. He adds tons of new color and tone to the existing songbook as well as creating a new look and feel to our newest material !
